ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR TAMIL NADU MBBS/BDS ADMISSION THROUGH NEET 2020
- Candidates should be a citizen of India or OCI or Foreign National
- The age of the candidates should be at least be 17 years of age as on December 31, 2020.
- The Maximum age is 25 years & 5 Years Extension is allowed for the Reserve categories.
- To be admitted into the government quota the Candidate should be a resident/Native of Tamil Nadu (TN domicile) Candidates belonging to other states who are residing at Tamil Nadu cannot claim nativity of Tamil Nadu and they will be considered under the open category.
- All applying candidates must have come in the merit list of ”National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test” (NEET) for admission to BDS course in the current academic year.
- To be eligible for admission to BDS course, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination as mentioned.
- In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or other Backward Classes the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% instead of 50%.
- In respect of candidates will locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks in qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 45% instead of 50%.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES SEEKING ADMISSION UNDER NRI QUOTA IN SELF-FINANCING COLLEGES
Candidate should be of Indian Origin settled in Foreign

Candidates who were born in foreign countries and whose parents are of Indian Origin.

Children of Indian citizens staying abroad for employment, business.

Children of Indian citizens deputed abroad by Public Sector Undertaking

- The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR FOREIGN CANDIDATES
Candidates who have passed Advanced Level Qualification in foreign countries have to get Equivalency Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi equating their qualification to +2 qualification of the Central Board of Examinations / Board of Examination of the Concerned State. The candidates to obtain eligibility from MGR University paying a fee as follows- Indian Origin in Foreign Countries have to remit a sum of US $1000 + 18% GST
- Foreign Nationals US $5000 + 18% GST towards the cost of application and Eligibility fee. The amount should be remitted through online RTGS / NEFT or the IOB challan to be paid at The Tamil Nadu M.G.R Medical University Premises.
HOW TO SECURE ADMISSIONS FOR BDS UNDER DR. TN MGR MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
- Apply to DME to participate in counseling.
- Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Tamil Nadu will release the application form for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS Admission.
- Apply online on the official website, www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in
- Follow the instructions given on the website for filling the application.
- The candidates have to make payment of Rs 500-/- or Rs. 1000-/- (Government quota or management quota) towards the cost of application fee through the Demand Draft in favor of The Secretary, Selection Committee, Office of the Director of Medical Education, Chennai-10.

Method of payment through Debit Card, Credit Card / Net banking Necessary facilities have been provided for making payment through nationalized banks via bank payment portal. Candidates must note that mere deduction of fee from the Bank account is not a proof of fee payment
- A separate application for Government and Management quota is present
- It is advisable that students apply for both Management and Government quota in case they are not sure if they will secure a seat in the Government quota
- Processing charges will also be paid by the candidate for online payment of fee through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking along with applicable taxes by the respective Banks. Details of the same are available on the official websites, www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in and www.tnmedicalselection.org.
- The candidates must note that after submission of the online application form, it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for refund of the cost of application, if any, arose due to double-time payment should be substantiated with proper evidence to the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai.-10.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR TAMIL NADU MBBS/BDS ADMISSION THROUGH NEET 2020
Candidates are required to enclose only photocopies of the following certificates along with the filled in the online application form.- NEET- 2020 Admit card and Scorecard.
- Class X Mark Sheet (both sides of Mark Sheet should be photocopied).
- Class XI Mark Sheet (both sides of Mark Sheet should be photocopied).
- S.C. Mark sheet (both sides of the mark sheet should be photocopied) or any other equivalent examination.
- Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent courses.
- Certificate for proof of study from VI Std. to XII Std.
- Nativity certificate obtained from Tamil Nadu for the candidates who are seeking admission under the minority category.
- Permanent Community Certificate Card.
- NRI related documents, if applicable.
RANK LIST FOR TAMIL NADU MBBS/BDS ADMISSION THROUGH NEET 2020
- Rank List of the candidates will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-2020) for MBBS / BDS Degree Courses for that particular academic year.
- The Secretary, Selection Committee will publish the tentative rank list as per the schedule on the official website.http://www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in
- Candidates have to score well in NEET exam to get a higher rank in MBBS/BDS course.
- Candidate’s seat allotment and counseling process will be done on the basis of ranks that are assigned in the Rank List.
COUNSELLING FOR TAMIL NADU MBBS/BDS ADMISSION THROUGH NEET 2020
- Counselling call letter will be released after the merit List declaration.
- After the release of the merit list candidates can download the call letters for counselling from official websites.http://www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in
- Individual call letters will be not sent to the candidates.
- At the time of counselling, candidates need to provide all the documents for verification purposes.
- In any case, if the candidate is unable to provide any of the documents then they will NOT get an opportunity to appear for the counselling.
- It is mandatory to provide all the original documents (mentioned above) at the time of counseling.
- If the candidate has already joined some other course and the original certificates are submitted there, the candidate needs to get the certificates from the college for the counselling purpose.
- After clearing the counselling round candidate will get their allotment of seats.
- The allotment card can be collected on the same day.
- The candidate has to visit the allotted college within the time and day mentioned on the allotment card along with the allotment card to complete the other procedures.
- If the candidate fails to approach the college within the time frame the admission stands canceled.
- All the original documents, Allotment card, and college tuition fees need to be remitted at the college at the time of approaching the College/Institution.
